Uncomfortable moments in parenting

Rose, to Chris: Are you still paying the house?

(NOTE: We’ve had a 30-year mortgage for approximately 5 weeks)

Chris: Yes!

Rose: When we’re finished paying the house we can have lots of special treats!

Chris: *uncomfortable silence*

This just in…

When your kid goes to day care you hear a lot of random facts about people you don’t know.

Apparently Javier is having a roast chicken from Canterbury tonight.

Still sick

Sorry that last post didn’t arrive. The truth is, I’m sick. I’ve been sick for a month. I’m not feeling better. The new antibiotics I’m on aren’t working. It still hurts to cough. I’m still coughing. A lot.

The doctor on Thursday said that I might have viral pneumonia or drug-resistant bacterial pneumonia, which might be why the antibiotics aren’t working. I’m hopefully going to see her tomorrow for an update and get some lab results back.

The good thing is that mum’s here, she’s helping A LOT. And I’m not that sick. I can still breathe and move around and so forth. It’ more like a heavy cold with sore lungs. It could be worse.

Did I tell you about the time?

Did I tell you about the time we all came down sick, ended up on antiotics and one of us went to hospial? No? Well hold on to your seats because there’s a good story coming.

And just to tantalize you, it involves pneumonia, tonsillitis, croup, and an ear infection.

And a bit of crying and laughing.
